Technical Coordinator (Engineering)

Working in the technical team this role will support with all Engineering aspects of specific development sites, coordinating efficiently to ensure timely and accurately delivery of development sites.

What will the role involve?

Working in the technical team this role will support with all Engineering aspects of specific development sites, coordinating efficiently to ensure timely and accurately delivery of development sites.

Key role responsibilities

  • Assist with engineering input following technical approval to completion of developments.
  • Tendering and commissioning of consultants reports and utilising the information provided.
  • Ensure all design information is completed and issued to the relevant internal and external departments in accordance with the agreed pre-commencement programme
  • Instructing Remediation Strategies and coordinating requirements throughout the developments cycle
  • Develop a strong working relationships with key utility companies, suppliers and consultants
  • Agree and coordinate new servicing routes for new site supplies
  • Lead on the application and appointment for new site supplies including any diversionary works
  • Manage the requirement for new easements or wayleaves through to legal completion 
  • Assisting with conveyance plans to ensure engineering constraints are considered
  • Assist technical coordinator to ensure the discharge of engineering/land quality planning and NHBC conditions in a timely manner to achieve agreed start on site date
  • Progressing section agreements through to the legal approval completion stage, ensuring bond amounts are returned in line with bond tracker dates.
  • Checking and signing off suppliers’ information – floor beams, piling, foundation designs etc
  • Maintenance of Service and NHBC condition Trackers
  •  Assisting with clear and concise handover procedures for commercial, site, sales, and legal handovers
  • Attend meetings with local and statutory authorities where required.
  • Attend and contribute to the development team project meetings.
  • Assist in the procurement of detailed design information ensuring that these conform to the site planning permission, building regulations, NHBC standards, warranty and other statutory requirements. 
  • Resolution of daily queries within the development team
  • Management of Drawing Register and Information issue
  • Attending and contributing to the development team meetings
  • Contribution to commercial suitability and economy in design 
  • Hitting key dates and deadlines

What we expect from you?

  • Understanding of engineering issues eg roads and sewers, foundations, land drainage, utilities etc. and can provide suggestions on how to resolve them

  • Demonstrates development, technical and architectural knowledge to identify issues and suggest solutions to resolve them

  • Knowledge and appreciation of Building Regulations, NHBC Standards, Health & Safety and other regulations within the industry.

  • Shows commercial awareness and contribution to value engineering

  • Builds relationships with Commercial and Production to ensure the right support is offered to meet build targets.

  • Understanding of their patch and what local authorities will and will not pass-through planning, constantly driving the technical process with a close eye on timescales.

  • Passion for our homes, products, and people 

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with people at all levels both internal and external to the business.
