We are looking to recruit and train the next generation of site managers, supporting learning through the NHBC NVQ apprenticeship programme in Construction Site Supervision.

The role

What will the role involve?

We are looking to recruit and train the next generation of site managers, supporting learning through the NHBC NVQ apprenticeship programme in Construction Site Supervision. 
Construction Site Supervisors manage staff and subcontractors with an eye for detail, ensuring quality and ensuring the home is ready for the homeowner and will supervise all aspects of the build.
You will work on site alongside our experienced site teams with formal learning on a day release basis with modules covering everything from health and safety, construction technology, NHBC standards, building regulations, defect prevention, material management through to customer service and handover. On successful completion you will gain a recognised industry qualification to NVQ Level 4 standard and be ready to continue building your career on the road to site management. 
You day to day role will be to support our site teams, who run our new home building developments. They are responsible for the houses being built safely, on time, on budget and to the highest quality. Our site management team prepare sites prior to the start of construction, plan their project build schedule, organise their specifications, budgets and general structure of the site.

Training 

You will complete the NHBC Construction Site Supervisor Apprenticeship Course. More information on the course can be found here. 
Co-created with industry experts and leading house builders, this apprenticeship will see you spending one day a week, throughout the whole year and not restricted by traditional term times widely used at present - studying for a formal qualification alongside your employment.
There are ten modules delivered virtually by a residential construction-focused NHBC training professional over 62 weeks – so you can learn no matter where you’re based in the UK. The course content focuses on new-builds and meets the requirements of apprenticeship standard ST0048.
At the end of this apprenticeship, you’ll have an industry-recognised Level 4 qualification in Site Supervision and relevant CSCS card, ready to hit the ground running.

Progression

We will discuss with you how you want your career to develop and will provide the support you need. You will be setting objectives that will provide clarity and purpose and a development plan that provides the right level of development for you at your stage of your career. Intended progression after this course is to start your role as an Assistant Site Manager, enabling you to progress up the career ladder as far as Production Director with the right skills, attitude and abilities.  
Requirements:
This is a site-based role, so you will need to be happy to work outdoors in all weathers. You will need to be good with your hands, good working within a team, and passionate about the industry. You will be based in the East & West Midlands, and will require your own transport to travel to your site and occasionally our offices in Chasetown, Staffs

  • GCSE or equivalent Maths and English (Grade 2-3) essential
